I'll wait another day, but if there's nothing more I can improve on the costume, I'll start doing the different poses for the hood.
August 16, 2010 17:19 (14 years ago)
I guess my question is, why do so many different pieces?
Instead of a shirt and a skirt, why not make it a dress? You don't really even really see the shirt with the hoodie on.
Just thinking of ways to make it easier on you.
August 16, 2010 17:45 (14 years ago)
Well I wanted to push myself (and I have a lot of free time in the mornings).
I already realized the shirt wouldn't be visible, so it's been scrapped.
I didn't make it a "dress" because the pants (not a skirt) have tights/stockings attached. If I were to make it one piece, the tights would go over top of the shoes' layer.
*thinks for a minute*
But I just now realized that pants go over top of the shoes layer, so the tights would go over the shoes anyway. They will now be on their own as socks.
Which means I could have it as:
a) Hoodie + pants, gloves, tights, boots. (4 pieces)
or
b) Hoodie, pants, tights, gloves, boots. (5 pieces)
Personally I still want to keep the hoodie and pants separate. Who knows, maybe someone else would like to use my puffy pants?
I've been working on the poses, finished 9 of 13 so far. It's not so hard, lots of copy and pasting with a little bit of redrawing.
August 18, 2010 9:02 (14 years ago)
I noticed how you were trying to submit the hoodie by including half of it with the sleeve poses. This won't work, because not all sleeves are on the same layer, meaning you can end up with half a hoodie. I think best would be to submit the hoodie separately on the hat layer (note that there is also a back layer there to put the "inside" of the hoodie on) and the rest in a normal way. It still won't make the hair go away, so give it plenty of room (most hairs are not as poofy as the poofy hair anyway). I could add something to make the back layer of the hair go away for hoodies, it just hasn't come up before.
August 18, 2010 19:19 (14 years ago)
Yeah, honestly the whole sleeve thing confused me. I just cropped all the sleeves at a certain point in the center of the hoodie so that any combo wouldn't create a missing slice. Then used the torso layer to ensure the pompom wouldn't go missing.
I did add a piece to be the inside of the hood, but still the poses with the arms up looked weird.
But I really don't like the thought of hair sticking out behind the hood. I plan to draw the hoodie as if the hood were down, behind the avatar. Then I'll make a Bunny-ear headband.
August 19, 2010 20:51 (14 years ago)
Don't you want to try submitting it like I suggested? I think it would be interesting to try to make a hoodie work. The hat layer goes in front of the hair so if I remove the back layer of the hair, it could work.
August 19, 2010 22:13 (14 years ago)
And... is there really a reason to make "rosemouse" the color name? The credits go to you automatically, you know.
August 19, 2010 23:02 (14 years ago)
Oh, I never made the color "rosemouse" that's just there automatically.
I'll try submitting again tomorrow morning, I'm a little busy now.
August 20, 2010 1:41 (14 years ago)
I resubmitted the items without "rosemouse" as the color.
I made the hood on a separate layer, and I'll try to finish the sleeves properly tomorrow.
There's already Miku clothing. Check your profile, I told you where to find them.
September 1, 2010 22:01 (14 years ago)
It doesn't matter if more people use the same idea, there can be more versions of the same item, as long as they're all good that is.
September 2, 2010 0:23 (14 years ago)
Can some one make super long white straight hair
like to the ankels or longer like dragin behind a lilbit
September 3, 2010 23:24 (14 years ago)
Tamie I'll do it! I gonna start on it now.
September 4, 2010 8:30 (14 years ago)
Not bad, Aye, but are you sure you got all the colors right? Also, the star doesn't really stand out, maybe you should outline it.
September 4, 2010 15:24 (14 years ago)
Thanks I fixed it up abit... I suck at perfecting colours.
September 5, 2010 10:53 (14 years ago)
Right now, it's kind of weird how the shading of the white is darker than the green. I'd make the straps purple, and the folds of the skirt could be neater.
September 21, 2010 19:13 (14 years ago)
Hey would it b alright fo someone to pixel me a hoodie please sorry if bothering u
September 22, 2010 4:05 (14 years ago)
What kind? Please be more specific. Color, style, pattern, etc.?
September 22, 2010 4:06 (14 years ago)
Include pictures!
September 22, 2010 22:48 (14 years ago)
Ok lime green and black checkered and a little baggy
September 23, 2010 5:25 (14 years ago)
Okay, that will be simple enough. I'll work on it tomorrow. Should only take a day or so.
September 23, 2010 21:28 (14 years ago)
OK thank you rose
September 27, 2010 5:45 (14 years ago)
Can anybody make items from other peoples ideas and credit them? Or just established artists? :)
September 27, 2010 6:42 (14 years ago)
Do you mean you want to pixel something someone has suggested/requested? Anyone can post their items in the User Submissions thread. As long as it's 100% your work, you will get the credit.
Or do you mean you want to make your own version of someones already submitted item? If that's the case, as long as it's an acceptable item, there can be "duplicates".
And welcome to CPDD!
September 27, 2010 20:31 (14 years ago)
Lord I need to update this place.
No, you cannot copy someone's item and turn it into your own. If you need help with bases for items, then you can go to the page Rose listed and ask about outline help.
September 27, 2010 20:45 (14 years ago)
I hope you don't think I was saying you could carbon-copy someones item then add your own stuff. That's not the case!
I guess I should be more clear with my answers...
September 27, 2010 21:37 (14 years ago)
No, but I think that might have been what the question was.
September 27, 2010 22:22 (14 years ago)
Alright!
And about akira's hoodie, I've been working on it a little. If I get some free time, I'll finish it.
September 28, 2010 2:00 (14 years ago)
Okay, here's akira's hoodie.
What do you think Az? Karin?
I showed it to akira and he thinks it's great.
September 28, 2010 7:14 (14 years ago)
I hope it gets accepted!
September 28, 2010 7:23 (14 years ago)
I should do other colors. What color combination would you like?
September 28, 2010 8:59 (14 years ago)
Woah. I think the squares are rather large... And it matches up too nicely, if there is a seam down the middle, but I don't know if there is one..
I dunno, you just can't really see detail in it. All I see if black and bright green squares..
September 28, 2010 19:50 (14 years ago)
I always though a hoodie needed to have a hood. But maybe I don't understand that item of clothing. We call them "sweater with capuchon" I believe.
About the pattern, you can't have it continue on the arms, because the sleeves are always another piece of fabric and so the pattern will be following the direction of the arm.
No further problems with it but Az is in charge ;P
September 28, 2010 20:45 (14 years ago)
Oh, it has a hood, but because it's a separate item it's on a separate layer and hidden.
About the squares being large, they are 4x4 px right now, and honestly when they were 3x3 px it was too cluttered and you couldn't see the shading and highlighting.
I guess I'll just shift the pattern on both sides of the torso piece because I've already made all the sleeve pieces. No big deal.
The seam is where the zipper is, but it's not the zipper. It's the fabric that over laps to hide the zipper.. Confusing?
http://sewbananas.com/images/Full-Zip-Hoodie.jpg This is what I mean, the fabric goes over the zipper, hiding it.
September 28, 2010 21:10 (14 years ago)
Here it is with the hood this time, heh.
I shifted the pattern on each section of the torso. So the left and right side of the body, and the left and right side of the pockets all are different.
September 28, 2010 21:54 (14 years ago)
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
September 28, 2010 22:27 (14 years ago)
I'm glad!
October 2, 2010 22:14 (14 years ago)
I'm accepting it if you won't, Az.
October 2, 2010 23:12 (14 years ago)
Sorry, I had meant to ask about the two layers thing and totally forgot >_<
October 11, 2010 9:42 (14 years ago)
I remember a while ago LunaMoonDust asked for floor-length white hair.
I gave it a try... I think I need to redo the bottom; it looks like the webbing on a duck's foot. I'm going to get rid of the curl on the right; it doesn't look right either. (Used her oekaki drawing as a reference.)
I also need to fix the outline on the left behind the arm.. it's all funky. And make the outline darker.
October 14, 2010 4:54 (14 years ago)
Redid the bottom, looks like hair now but not happy with it.
Lightened the main color and darkened the outline.
Fixed the outline on the left side.
October 14, 2010 10:08 (14 years ago)
I kinda like it the first way better.
October 14, 2010 22:06 (14 years ago)
Really? Okay, I'll fix that one up a little.
October 14, 2010 22:20 (14 years ago)
There, how's that?
October 15, 2010 20:31 (14 years ago)
I actually liked it better int he first one. Looks like it has more shading in it, but I will say that top looks kinda boring, but if she likes it, then that's all that matters.
October 15, 2010 20:57 (14 years ago)
Well, I hadn't liked it 'cause it looked too crowded.
And by the "top" you mean the bangs?
I haven't heard from Luna if she like it or not, she doesn't sign in often.
October 16, 2010 2:11 (14 years ago)
Yeah, that. Lol. I can't think straight today, it's been a pretty bad few days.
October 16, 2010 3:09 (14 years ago)
Aww, I see. Okay, I'll change that next chance I get.
