Heh, I didn't think I was that good too, but practice makes perfect! (And I'm not that perfect, hehe!)
What makes I easier for me is using Photoshop. But people can make beautifully pixelled items with Paint!
Just try your hardest, submit it for advice, then work to fix your mistakes. I know you can do it!
