October 7, 2009 5:15 () That's the closest I've been able to get in making it look like fire and hair while trying to make it flow down rather than up. I was hoping it could pass as magma. I think I'm just not going to do fire hair at all. Second try (with reference) not working out when I've been able to do all the others first try without reference just makes it seem like fire hair is something better reserved for someone else.
October 7, 2009 6:51 () Eh... Its not like anyone but me and one other person actually use them, and the other person is only using the short version of the water hair. Since I have no intention of every having fire hair on my avatar, I don't see any reason to complete the entire set. Maybe when I feel more in the mood to take another whack at fire (and pixel art in general) I might try again. Until then, I don't plan on finishing the set. And its not that I'm disappointed that my last try wasn't accepted, not at all. I was hesitant to really submit it in the first place, since it bothered me a bit, too. I just haven't been interested in pixel art much during the past few months and was forcing myself to finish them all these past couple of weeks so they wouldn't be looming over my head as an unfinished project anymore. Has too many unfinished art projects at the moment.
